API keys are managed by the Pi coding agent on your machine, never sent to us. PiLot Studio adds a GUI on top: provider setup with OAuth login for supported providers, favorite models that persist across restarts, custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints added in two clicks, and per-model thinking levels.

Local models in VS Code

Point Pi at Ollama and the same GUI drives a fully local AI coding agent — nothing leaves your machine. Pair it with PiLot's Light Mode (skills, extensions, and context files off; tools limited to read/bash/edit/write) and Whisper dictation that already runs offline, and you have a privacy-focused AI coding assistant that works on a plane.
